Did you know that cats....

• Can sprint at 31 mph
• Can sleep on average 16 hours per day and for older cats, even longer
• Groom themselves 30% of the time
• Hear at 5 x the acuity and sharpness of humans
• Have over 100 vocalization sounds (dogs have 10)
• Sense of smell is 14 times stronger than that of a human adult
• Are more active in the evening hours
• Can be taught to shake (See Eddie below..), walk on a leash among other cool things....

Cats are:

• 45 times more prolific than humans (dogs are 5 x more)
• Only 3-5% of cats received by shelters will be returned to owners (dogs = 30%)
• The life expectancy of an unaltered outdoor cat is estimated to be less than 2 years
